“You’re always the MVP” — my client

Writer's picture: John BrandtJohn Brandt

I just got off a call with a client. She has an event coming up in 10 days and she’s stressed.

Why?

Not only does any event have a million and a half moving parts, but her marketing efforts (outside of the emails I’ve written for her to promote it) just ain’t working.

And I feel for her.

She’s tried asking the guests to reach out to their audiences… Nada. (I don’t know if they’ve refused to do so or just aren’t persuasive. Same end result though.)

She’s tried running Facebook and Instagram ads, but outside of some crude comments, they’ve also generated zero results.

And she’s also doing some local guerilla marketing for it—the results have yet to be seen.

That’s why, during our call to discuss the ramp up of emails to send to her list she uttered music to my ears:

“You’re always the MVP.”

Turns out, all the attendees who have signed up for the event came from yours truly.

Now, while I enjoy being the MVP, I also wish the other marketing efforts worked. I want my clients to succeed after all.

But this brings up an important lesson:

Email is still king.

Whether you’re selling events, products, or services.

Which reminds me:

Need help selling more of whatever you sell?

Hit reply, and let’s chat.
