If you’ve ever gone through a “make money online” course, then you know they promise you the world:
Work whenever you feel like it.
Enjoy lavish vacations where you can work on the beach. (Never mind all the sand that’ll get stuck in your laptop.)
Financial freedom.
The list goes on and on.
Only problem is… Most of this is pure fantasy.
The real life of an entrepreneur is a little messier:
Sure, you can work whenever you feel like it. But you also need to work when you don’t feel like it. And “whenever you feel like it” can quickly morph into 18 hour days every day of the week.
Sure, you can work on the beach. But you’ll also jam your keys with sand, leave with a wicked sunburn, and barely even be able to see your screen for most of the time.
Sure, you can achieve financial freedom. But you’ll also need to spend more than the average person to achieve said financial freedom.
And don’t forget the overwhelm that comes attached with “being your own boss.”
Sure, being your own boss sounds good. In theory. In practice though? Well, in practice, you have to balance 100 different tasks, each of them adding a few more drops of overwhelm into your bucket.
Here’s why I bring it up:
Being an entrepreneur is a paradox for the reasons I listed above.
But you know what helps you actually achieve the gurus’ promises?
Sticking to your strengths and not worrying about your weaknesses.
Take my clients for example:
Can some of them write decent emails? Yes, of course. But for many of them, it’s not a strength like it is for me. That’s why I’ve helped turn one of my clients businesses from a middling mid 6-figure brand into a 7-figure brand (with plans to grow into an 8-figure brand).
And you know what?
By hitting reply to this here email, we’ll hop on a quick call and see if we’re a good fit. And if we are? Well, I may actually help you transform the guru fantasy into real life.
