Peanut and I are going camping this weekend.
But ever since yesterday, I’ve been stressed to the max. Back-to-back vacations will make that happen.
Anyway, I had a lot of work to do before our camping trip, where I don’t expect to have much Wi-Fi, if any at all.
And yesterday, around 2 pm, one of my clients did something that ratcheted my stress even higher:
Couple weeks ago, he told me about a new drip sequence he needs built to convert a larger segment of our leads into customers.
And it’s a 24-email long sequence that I’ve been adding a few emails to each day.
Well, I had 14 done at 2 pm yesterday when he asked if I could finish it by the end of the week.
“NoooooOooOOOOOoOooooooo”
I planned on finishing this project when I got back. ‘Twas my mistake for not asking when the deadline was when we first met about the project. And since 2 pm yesterday, I’ve written the final 11 emails.
It mayhap took 4 hours or so. Which means, I finished 2.75 emails per hour.
(Money is attracted to speed, y’know?)
So, how did I do it?
In addition to all the other emails I've had to write?
Simple:
I’ve never missed a deadline yet, and I don’t plan on starting.
Not only does having a deadline hyperfocus you, but once you “eat the frog,” it actually becomes fun (even if I was not excited the deadline snuck up on me so quickly).
Moral of the story?
Most freelancers, like the one from Facebook I warned you about the other day, ain’t professional.
They NEVER hit deadlines.
Me?
I NEVER miss em.
