Elon Musk is one of this century’s American heroes. Not only has he figured out rocket science, electric vehicles, and degenerative neurological diseases, but he’s also the savior of free speech since buying Twitter.
Since he recently came out and endorsed Trump (who has since won the presidency), my man Elon is going to head up a new government agency ironically called DOGE: the Department of Government Efficiency.
And he’s set to slash a lot of jobs from the federal government.
Now, Elon has a history of cutting wasteful, bureaucratic jobs. When he bought Twitter, for example, he immediately fired 5,930 people who weren’t necessary. That’s about 80% of the Twitter workforce. It’s my view that nobody in the federal government is necessary, but methinks Elon won’t go full anarchist and outlaw the federal government, but one man can dream.
Anyway, this got me thinking about you and your customers or clients.
Imagine Elon was evil and decided to use DOGE to come after your business or your clients’ businesses…
Would you survive?
Or would you get kicked out to the curb like the 80% of Twitter employees he axed?
In my humble, yet correct opinion, unless you generate at least 10x what your clients pay you, then, well, you best prepare for getting kicked to the curb.
And that, my friend, is how you “Elon-proof” yourself.
Because here’s the thing…
If you’re a copywriter or marketer, you should pay for yourself. Hiring you should be an investment, not a cost.
And if you’re a business owner?
You best learn how to get out of your own way before it’s too late.
The unfortunate truth about most business owners is that they stick to their old ways despite evidence of other ways being more profitable. I’m guilty of this myself. And you probably are too.
But hear me clearly:
What got you to where you are now won’t get you to where you wanna go.
This is one of the fundamental facts of business.
The good news?
If you haven’t committed to your email marketing, not only does it create a wildly high ROI compared to other marketing strategies, but I can also help you get it up and running and scaling.
