Hawkeye’s secret for joining the Avengers (and how to accomplish similar impossible feats)

Writer: John BrandtJohn Brandt

Hawkeye is perhaps the most interesting “superhero” to join the Avengers.

Why?

For starters, he has no superpowers.

He’s also not a billionaire like Bruce Wayne, who also doesn’t have superpowers, but uses his billions of dollars in lieu of superpowers.

And yet, despite these two “deathblows” for becoming a superhero… Hawkeye has, in fact, become a super hero.

How?

Well, this is what makes Hawkeye so interesting, especially as someone with an equal amount of superpowers as our arch-slinging hero.

Y’know what Hawkeye has that has enabled him to join the Avengers, pal around with other superheroes and demigods, and save the planet from destruction multiple times (even though he doesn’t have a lick of super strength, super speed, or any of the other superpowers superheroes typically have)?

Well, my friend, Hawkeye has a skill set.

His skill set—being perhaps the most lethal human in existence with a bow and arrow in his hand—has opened up a world of opportunity for him.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hawkeye started out as a stereotypical job man for S.H.I.E.L.D. Yet, by the end of Avengers: Endgame, we’ve seen him traveling across space and time, killing a metric fvckton of aliens and robots, and we’ve even seen him become a John Wick-esque antihero (using a machete instead of Gun-fu) to punish all the even people left after Thanos snapped half of the population out of existence.

Not to mention, he’s also been on the Avengers team since the first Avengers movie, even though he started that movie as a typical job man for S.H.I.E.L.D. He’s even housed the Avengers at his home—something that no other superhero was able to do.

All because of one crucial thing:

Hawkeye developed a skill set. And this skill set, while it pales in comparison to the other Avengers’s skillsets, has become useful to the team full of superheroes and demigods.

And y’know what? (You can probably see where this is going…)

Your email list is another “superpower” no different than Hawkeye’s. Of course, us mortals without superpowers can’t force your customers and leads to purchase all your products with a wave of our hands. But, by either developing your own email copy skills (or working with another professional like yours truly), we can tap our fingers and tap into an immense amount of wealth that wouldn’t have been activated without email.

In a way, that skill set of writing persuasive and engaging email copy becomes a superpower. One that could even help the Avengers. And of course, could help you become the Captain America or Iron Man (take your pick) of your life’s story.

In other words:

Email is the Hawkeye of online marketing.

It might not be the sexiest or the coolest “superpower.” But it may be the most important.

Let that marinate in your mind as you go about your day.

And if you need a Hawkeye to help your business explode with growth, book a call here.
