Well, well, well… Would you look at that, your friendly neighborhood email specialist was right again.
Checky:
DK Pittsburgh Sports, my favorite local sports media publication, recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary after DK (the founder) left his cushy job at Post Gazette because he foresaw the crash of print media and the rise of digital media.
And so, in his daily podcast (he does a short one for the Steelers, the Pirates, and the Penguins—all three of Pittsburgh’s professional sports teams) on the 10 year anniversary, he shared a humbling story:
Everyone felt the “sting” during covid. Being locked down, masked up, and unable to do anything can put quite the hamper on mental and business health.
And this is particularly true when your business relies on sports to function. If you can think back to this nightmare period of human history, there were zero sports happening for several months. And when they came back, fans weren’t allowed to attend games.
Anyway, DK felt immense boredom during this period. And he was worried that his business could go belly up without any actual sports to cover.
So you know what he did?
He started his “Daily Shots” podcast series. This is where he records three 10-15 minute daily podcasts. He started this out of sheer boredom and to give his subscribers something to chew on while everyone was locked in their house going insane.
And I’ve never felt more vindicated in me life!
Here’s transcript of DK explaining how daily content creation saved his business and opened it up to new heights:
====
The daily shots changed our company in a lot of different ways. We were exposed to people who'd never heard of our written content at DK Pittsburgh Sports, who'd never heard of our company, who'd never heard of me and it was a whole new world for us.”

Told ya, cully.
Daily content creation can change the trajectory of your business too.
That’s why he still records his three daily podcasts long after covid is a distant memory.
And y’know what?
So it is with email, cully, so it is with email.
If you need help with this on an email front, hit reply, and let’s set up a quick call.
