4000 weeks

The average human lifespan is only 4000 weeks. And you’re at least 1000 weeks in, mayhap more. 

How silly does it seem to, say, spend 8 hours of your 4000 weeks to create and send a single email (which may or may not even generate a profit for your time)?

And yet, businesses who believe the lies out of every gurus mouth will do exactly that, working hard to design an email themselves, making sure it's properly branded, full of forgettable stock photos and pretty (yet distracting) colors and text formatting, chock full with short links, mini-sections that tease a useless blog post, and myriad other “design” mistakes. 

Worst part?

These “newsletter” style emails, while they may get praise from your audience, almost never get clicks - let alone sales. But they tend to get praise - and most business owners don’t realize that you shouldn’t ask the deer how to hunt it but the hunter. 

I can’t think of a worse investment than spending 8 hours of your 4000 weeks for meaningless praise. 

Or, what about worrying about email marketing at all?

Sure, it is, year after year, despite various gurus spouting “email is dead” every so often, the single best marketing channel you can grow and profit from. 

But still - if’n you own a business, unless it’s a copywriting business that uses email to promote your stuff (à la Ben Settle), then it’s largely a waste of time. Heck, even Ben doesn’t write all his emails for all his businesses. 

Why?

A business owner’s superpower is rarely hidden in an email marketing strategy or implementation. There’s a reason other so-called “email gurus” don’t, in fact, actually manage their email lists. Even ESPs don’t use email marketing as their primary marketing channel. 

Not because email isn’t effective. But they’re not effective at email. 

And with only 4000 weeks on this lovely green Earth, why even bother improving your weaknesses?

Much better, more profitable, and more fulfilling to double down on your strengths, and fill in your weaknesses with other people. 

That’s one way to stretch your 4000 weeks a few more miles. 

Anyway, you only get 4000 weeks. So, why waste another second not replying to one of my emails to dial in your email strategy so you can focus on your unique power and experience more growth than getting lost in the weeds of your ESP yourself could ever do?

That don’ make no cents to me - and it’s a surefire way to feel an immense pang of regret as y0ur final weeks tick out of existence of this earthly plane.
